Federal Government dismisses ISIS claim on killings in Nigeria

The Federal Government has denied the figures being reported by the Islamic State concerning the number of attacks carried out by Boko Haram and the number of people killed by the terrorists in Nigeria in the last two months.
A statement by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, says the figures released by the terrorist group are part of ISIS’ strategy to shore up the morale of its dispersed ally, the Boko Haram.
He also revealed plan by the group to release old Boko Haram videos in order to send fear across the country.
The minister noted that the ISIS-Boko Haram propaganda is deliberately timed to coincide with the December thirty-first deadline issued to the military to decimate the terrorists, as well as plans aimed at distracting the military. He therefore urged Nigerians to disregard the claim.
