The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant-General Tukur Buratai, on Tuesday, said the Nigerian Army acted on its rules of engagements during the clash between the army and members of the Shiite sect in Zaria, Kaduna State, in December.
Speaking, on Tuesday, when he responded to a summons for the opening session of the investigation panel on the clash at the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in Abuja, Buratai said the duty of the military was to ensure peace and also made sure that laws of the country were properly maintained. He warned that nobody should ridicule the Nigerian Army but always respect them.
