The Osun State Government has debunked insinuations that it would not pay March salaries because of the six million naira federal allocation it received for February. In a statement, the government assured workers of payment of their salaries, saying it is executing a well-mapped out strategy for ensuring that workers are not made to pay more price for the dwindling allocation than they have done.
Aregbesola also said his administration is seeking a more convenient way of repaying the state’s loans to its creditors in order to allow it access more fund from the monthly federal allocation. The state received a paltry six-point-two million naira from about two-point-four billion naira allocation it got from the federation account in February due to deductions from the source. But the Civil Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun State has berated the governor for taking so much loans with nothing to show for the huge money borrowed by the administration.
